Nero pauses at 6% whenever I try to burn.

This problem started about 4 months ago - it began by pausing at 6% complete during a burn for only a few seconds, but it has continually gotten worse until now when it freezes indefinately.

I've tried using Burning Rom and Express, all manner of discs, simulations, everything. My version is 5.5.9.13 and i'm running XP Pro.

I've also tried swapping the IDE cables about (it's back on the MASTER now), uninstalling the driver, different file types etc.

Nero Support isn't much use - infotool crashes when I try to save the .txt file and they don't seem to understand my e-mails. They keep telling me to send the infotool file to them.

There is no other burning software installed. I'm at a total loss!
