Hi.
My machine needs a complete cleaning. I can't bear anymore it's slowness and instability. The only problem it's that I want to keep my temporal eMule files, the way I'll be able to continue the downloads after the reinstall of Windows and eMule.
Can you help me?

Hello,

I presume you are going to format the whole partition on which Windows is on. You can do this by simply backing up the temp directory. If you have different partitions and emule and Windows is on the same one, you can simply move the temp directory (and thus all the .part, .met and .bak files) to another partition and simply format the Windows partition. If you have a home network simply move the temp directory to another computer. You may also copy the the .part and .met files to a CD-RW if you really wish!
After re-installing Windows and then emule just move the temp folder which you have backed up, back to the emule directory. When you re-load emule it should recognise these automatically. If not change the location of the temp directory in the preferences section.
Hope this helps!

I would recommend just keeping the entire eMule folder so you can keep your credits. You can just put it back in your program files after you format and then manually create desktop and/or quick launch shortcuts, as there are no registry entries to worry about. If you'd rather, you could also reinstall emule, then overwrite that new eMule folder with your old one. Long story short, be aware that if you don't keep at least your cryptkey.dat and preferences.dat, you will lose your userhash, and effectively, your credits!
