I have ver 3.3 with HBC and a wad manager installed. I installed a CIOS fix to recover from the other 3.3u update (downgraded). That had to be done to get WADs to install. Anyway all is working fine for me now. I was wondering if I did nintendos 4.0 update to get better used of the SD card will it mess things up for me. I have read that updateing will not kill HBC but do not know if it will disable Wad installs.

The question is, Will I no longer be able to install WADs if I do the update? If so then what should I be looking for to get the new functions of the SD card? Im hopeing to be able to install the WADs then copy to SD to run it from there. Something similar would also work.

Wiigator is also installed on my system. I cant seem to make a copy the correct way. It starts to load and then some kind of error shows up. Does it matter if the media is + or -? What nero settings should I be using or should I be using something different to burn the ISO images?

I also keep seeing USB loders but cant really find what they are suposed to do. The bootmii I keep reading about looks very nice if it works. Will have to wait and see on that one.

Can someone please point me in the right direction to get things to work. SHoul I just wait for something to come out?Still in learning process and am sure I may be missing something. Before Im asked what IOSs I have I cant say since I dont know how to pull that info up.

What version of WiiGator have you installed?

Did you install the needed cIOS that needs to be installed for WiiGator to work?

HERE is a simple guide that walks you through installing cIOS, WiiGator Gamma, cMIOS for Game Cube Support and SD/USB Loader.

After you have performed those instillations you can then go to the 4.0 firmware section of the guide on what you need to do to install it (Just make sure you have the cIOS installed).

Since you have installed HBC and did the 3.3/3.4 fix you can start at Installing WiiGator Backup Launcher 0.3 Gamma section.

The USB Loader can boot backup games off a USB Hard Drive. So instead of changing game disc you can rip them to a USB Hard Drive device and then boot them from the device instead of using DVD-ROM backups.

Nero should work and all you need to do is select burn image to disc and set speed at 4X. IMGBurn is also a good application for burning games. Just set it to 4X and burn (make sure your using quality media).

Im not sure what CIOS are installed. I dont know how to look at that. I will find the one for wiigator and install. Guess it wont hurt if it is already there. The channel says ver3 for wiigator. Ill check out the guides and get what I am missing. One thing I need to know though. Will 4.0 kill new Wad installs?

If you have the proper files installed plus follow the 4.0 section of the guide I linked to above then everything will work.

Just follow the guide I linked to above. It has all the files you need. If you have any issues then let me know.

I looked through my files of what I did in the past. I have Cios CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042 installed. I found the new Ver 10 mentioned in the guide. The problem is I can only find it in DOL. Rename to boot.DOL for HBC. D/l a few times thinking I got a bad copy but all return the same result. Error ret-1. I might need to check a few things on the WII.

What method are you using? The cIOS36_rev10 installer has 2 methods. WAD and Network.

If your using the WAD method you need IOS36-64-v1042.wad in the root of the SD Card. If you are not using the WAD file then change the method to Network so it downloads the files you need via WiFi.

If you still have issues you might have to uninstall CIOS36_rev5-64-v1042 to install cIOS36_rev10.

OUTSTANDING!!!!! I used the network option. It applied 17 patches and installed the IOS. I then went to run one of my supposed bad backups and it ran. WiiGator now works. Now to go through the next steps.

The game I got to load will not do widescreen. Is this a limitation to WiiGator?
