I have a slimline PS2 , Model No. SCPH-90006.
I want to buy an LCD Monitor for my Computer, which is gonna be 19" supporting HD and having VGA as well as DVI-D ports.
But the question is, do I have any means to connect PS2 to this monitor like I connect it to the TV and enjoy a better picture quality?
I want to use the COMPONENT VIDEO CABLE that is available for the PS2. Or if not that, atleast the S-VIDEO cable.
I don't want to use the COMPOSITE video cable that comes alongwith the package.
Is there any kind of device available in the market(other than TV Tuners, coz they reduce the quality to a critically low level!)
that could connect PS2 to the LCD Monitor?
Please suggest solutions with details.
Thank you very much in advance.

99% yes. it all depends on the monitor you get - the PS2 will connect fine to the other end ...

BENQ G920HD
Please tell me if I can connect that stuff to this monitor to hook up PS2 instead of using some costly VGA Box .
Thanks

i re-read your post and take that back. if your monitor is DVI-D and the Adapter is DVI-I then NO.

Hmm...even I felt so...
But then, is there anything like DVI-D adapter similar to DVI-I???
Will that work for me?
Any other solution of connecting my PS2 with this monitor?
So that I can utilise my component cable to the best and play all those games which have progressive scan capability?

Ok now look at this...
here is an ultra cheap ASUS monitor available...with an HDMI port also...I am gonna be dead if this is so cheap!
Coz I have already placed an order for a BENQ 19" lcd which costs much more than this one!

Nope, it wasn't so tough finding a cheaper monitor, because it was just luck that I began my search with BENQ and liked its newly launched G Series HD models which are really good looking as well as come at a cheap rate.
I liked G920HD, but the only thing I am not sure about it is whether it's gonna be a glossy or matte screen.
I want Glossy so badly. Matte just sucks.
If you know about it please let me know because there are no reviews around the net as it is very new on the block.

I went mad searching for the best solution to hook my PS2 up to my LCD monitor using component av cables and finally I can make a conclusion based on all my hard work behind it. Don't go for cheap VGA boxes, you will compromise with quality. If you want to make one-time investment and want to have the best one, simply go for the XCM Mega Cool VGA Box from team xcm.
I am sure, you won't regret.
The cheapest is available over here:
