Hi everyone I'm very new to the Wii and the creating of back ups, My problems is when i download the rar files from my news group it downloads fine and checks all the files everything passes and I'm left with one file. This is the name of the game when i click on the rar books I'm not able to extract the ISO in fact I'm hit with this error message. name of the game and \icon-hod.ISO the archive is either in a unknown format or damaged. The problem is the file can be burnt but will not play in the Wii also I've only tried 3 games and get this message every time i use a news group and the files have never let me down i could understand one being bad but 3 from 3 it has to be me missing something maybe a program to run it through or something else any information and help would be greatly appreciated kind regards Dave

More then likely you have WinRAR associated with ISO's so ISO files have the WinRAR icon.

Burning the ISO as is should work.

Make sure your using quality media and burn with IMGBurn at 4x.

If you want more help then let us know more info.

Like how your booting the backup games.

What firmware are you on.

What are the games your trying to backup?

What error message or what is the Wii doing when you try to play the backup.

hi win rar is associating the iso with the win rar icon i'm using verbatim dvd+r and i'm using img burn to burn the back ups the game's i've tried to back up are dangerous creatures, Mad world and house of the living dead. The fireware is 1.51 wii pirate i also have the usb loader installed on the wii dash but dont use the hard drive to play them as of yet. When i put the disk in it goes to a blank black screen then the disk struggles makes a clicking sound and refuses to eject the game untill its turned off and the back on again. I use the wii back up loader to load the games i've hurd that the wii use's dvd-r but plus if u burn as a dvd-rom like xbox360 could this be my problem using +r disks and imgburn cos my book type is set to dvd-rom to burn xbox back ups? thanks to anyone who can help kind regards dave

Your firmware is not 1.51 there is no 1.51 firmware for the Wii.

Go to Wii settings and the firmware will be in the top right hand corner.
