Hope this is the right place to post this, did a search and found this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/74527
but I guess my question is how do I get the ReplayTV mpg file to my computer in the first place?

I could drag the Replay unit into the other room and use component video and audio to connect to the computer, but this seems an inelegant solution at best, especially since everything is already connected thru my network.

I have the send to in my replay menu, but it wants a valid address, i.e. serial number for another Replay box. I haven't done a lot of research, but the Replay software seems to only want to share with another Replay unit.

Anyway, all hints and help would be appreciated. Formula 1 season has just started, and I'd love to be able to archive to DVD. Not to mention a couple other regulars I'd like to make permanent.

TIA, and apologies if I'm rehashing something that's been covered before.

If you want to Capture the actual Mpeg2 stream that is being transmited to your TV Box then you will probably need one of those Satalite Capture Cards which actually record the Mpeg2 Transport stream that is being Transmitted so there is no quality loss..Any other Type of Capture device would be captureing a Copy of the Mpeg2 Stream but you can still get Pretty Good Quality if you have a Good capture device..The only way to capture without a satalite card would be to use a regular capture device and Plug the Video Output from the Replay TV Box into the Input on your Capture device, If your capture device and TV Box both have S-Video then use them...
You could also get a DVD Recorder and Record them that way....Good Luck

Seems just like what I was looking for! Get the file in, edit it, and burn to DVD>>> just need some more software....

Thanx again, I'll let you know how it works out.
