Help with USB Extreme

So I bought an 400 external USB HDD to replace my 40GB IDE internal HDD that was in my PS2.

Previously I used HD Adavanced read the internal one, but to read tthe external I need to use the USB Extreme program found on the same disc.

Whenever I try to get the USB Extreme to load, it freezes right before it chooses which program to start. (a load screen that has logo of HD advanced and usb extreme)

I formatted a partition of the hd to ntsc and then formatted it with the USB extreme application on the computer. (also set it to be the active partition)

Can anyone help?

USBExtreme should format it too FAT32, and from what I know, it does not like partitions on the drive.

It has to be one partition.

All you have done is good
but if usb extreme is freezing at the splash screen, try to burn the elf on cd and boot usb extreme with the disc. It will work.
(hope you know how to make a ps2 cd)
