After years of mild use my modded ps2 has stopped reading backups.

Origionals play just fine.

Any advice on what to look for would be helpful.

I figure that the chip may be stuck in sleep-mode. I have already tried removing the ps2 battery.

It is a v12 slimline.

A stupid mistake was made here.

My ps2 was accidentally switched with a friend's ps2 which wasn't modded.

All is well
