Ok, Ive recently burned a dvd using dvd shrink and nero 9 w/ dvd+rw disks and it worked on my laptop but not in my dvd+ and dvd- recorder,it says that the disk may not have a playback feature??

However, I burned with the same disk before and this time it played on my laptop but not the recorder still. I tried playing another burned dvd (I didnt burn it) both dvd + and dvd- and it played. Can you help me solve this please?

The disc might be burned in ISO or ISO+Joliet mode, and DVD-Video requires UDF format burning.

Use ImgBurn, not Nero, problem solved.

Lordsmurf,

Thanks for the reply. However, I recently purchased Nero and thats the software it was saying to use on my laptop in order for me to burn, didn't know I could use others because of that.

Anyway, is there another solution other then replacing nero?

Thanks.

I already solved it. Do what I said.
You bought Nero, great, we all make mistakes. Move on.

DVD Shrink doesn't play nice with versions of Nero after "7" if you're trying to auto-burn... In that case you would want to use ImgBurn (and if you search the forum, you'll find a version of Shrink that will use ImgBurn).

If you want to use the version of Nero that you bought, you'll need to output from DVD Shrink to your hard drive, exit Shrink and then manually open Nero to burn.. Not an expert here, but I do believe I remember seeing posts that it does work this way.

That's what my NTSC Magnavox player says when I try to play one of my PAL discs in it.
