i was just playing with my psp when it suddenly shut off on its own.
i tried to turn it back on, but the green light doesn't even turn on.
can i still unbrick it?
i already charged my battery until the orange light on power goes off, which means the battery is full right?
but when i turn the psp on, the screen stays black and the power doesn't have the green light.
strangely though, when i put the psp on hold, the green light is on but the light on hold doesn't turn on.
i have a model psp-2006 and purchased it fully mod.
the last time, i upgraded it around january 2009 to 5.00 m33-04.
do you have a pandora battery a guide to making a magic memory stick is in my link below if you use a pandora battery it will boot into service mode it auto powers on then insert the mms and it boots up, with the help of a MMS magic memory stick, you can use the universal unbricker there are options for uuniversal unbricker, slim and phat ofw downgrader loads of info in the links any further help i will try
well, i don't have pandora battery yet, i wanted to check first because i've read through the forums that a brick is when the psp can still be turned on (with the green light on the power indicator) but the screen is black.
but my psp cannot be turned on and the green light doesn't turn on either.
it seems rather abnormal for a 'normal' brick.
what do you think?
should i just go ahead and try the pandora?
the focal price is quite reliable i trust?
and as my psp is slim, would it still work?
i've tried all the methods you just suggested except for testing the battery in another psp.
i live in a city where it's difficult to find someone having psp (doesn't seem to be very popular here).
the easiest to find would be in a store unfortunately.
i just found a thread on another forum with a downloadable guide on soft modding.
i'll probably try that first.
well i have the above mentioned problem well when i brought my psp i installed the firmware 5.03 and i have installed chicken and also i have installed the custom firmware that is 5.03 m-33.
My problem is when i have upgraded the version from 5.03 to 5.50 my psp is not working i mean when i turn on my psp i can see nothing on the psp screen its just black color.
Well if any can suggest me to recovery my psp that would be really helpful.
My Psp Model is 2006 MB Metallic Blue
Please give the recovery files link and the navigation on how to perform the recovery i mean where to copy the files and how to run them.
hold the right shoulder button down and switch it on you should now be in the recovery mode black screen white writing, this would indicate your psp is not fully bricked, do you have a pandora battery?
Hi thanks for the reply well i tried to turn on the psp by holding the power switch and the R button but i am not able to see any thing in the screen.
And i dont have a pandora battery.
Please suggest me in wht other steps needs to be taken.
Before we perform the above action i think we need to copy the recovery files in the memory stick i am not excatly sure of copying wht into the memory card so i am trying to find out a soultion but i dont have any options.
after a long time looking for answers, i think my psp has either power switch or mother board problem.
after a week, i tried my psp again and it suddenly worked fine.
then a few days later it started to play up again.
now it even worse, it actually starts to boot up on its own then shut down on its own after a few seconds.
chaitu, your psp might have motherboard problem as well.
as it seems to be difficult in getting a new motherboard that is compatible with custom firmware, i decided to do against it.
