i got a modded jasper brand new with no warrenty though,
i heard when the falcon chipset came out it was rrod proof, but after a year or so i heard stories of them getting the rrod.
do you think the jasper will be the same.also if i get the dreaded rrod would microsoft fix it for free, even though the sticker on the front is ripped,
The jasper board incorporates a 65nm gpu and cpu, and also 256MB of onboard ram.
The shrinking of the die is said to help the overheating problem by lowering the amount of heat the chips kick out and also lowers the wattage needed to run the xbox.
Microsoft will usually only honour the warranty if the sticker is untouched, however i have heard of a couple of people sending them back with rrod and no sticker and still getting them replaced, so its your choice really!
Keep in mind that if one comes back from ms and they refused to service it due to the warranty sticker missing there is nothing more you can do except fix the problem yourself as the console will no doubt be logged as "tampered with", so even if you bought a warranty sticker off ebay (they exist!) and replaced the sticker on your console it would not be accepted, however if you put the new sticker on before you send it off then they have no real reason to doubt its legitimacy!
I hope this has helped!
