If you're just answering a question regarding your own opinion, maybe say 'my guess'?
There's things about the threeo we know for sure and things that we just assume.
I don't think it's that hard for people to say 'my opinion' yeah? Just so people don't take any information as 'solid fact' since, you know, we know alot but don't know alot too?
It might prevent angry outbursts from both 'newbs' and 'afterdawn addicts'.
Express your disgust if you must. But remember 'forum rules', since none of us wanna get bitten by a venomous (or pmsing) moderator.

I'm also confused, and that includes the vague thread title too

something I agree with is...if you've got nothing to contribute (helpful) then just don't post anything, Ive seem ppl making fun of other ppl because of posting a threat that has been addressed a million times before (Not nice), I would also agree that a sub-category will help improve the way threads are answer...you know like noob and or advance levels if that makes any sense...

Trouble is the noobs don't post in the correct ones!, the DVD-R Noobs/Advanced forums are proof of this..

i would say 90% of forums are exactly the same.
long term members - very helpful and have great advice. but... get sick of seeing the same question asked 1000 times on the front page so they poke at newer members from time to time.
new members - think they shouldn't have to read any of the stickies or search for their answers because their question of 'can i get banned with a modded console' is a completely different topic from the thread titled 'modding your console will get you banned'.
all in all... if forums didn't have the new members asking stupid questions all of the time, the forums could get stale and boring.
disclaimer - 78% of all stats are made up

so to sum up what the guy wants is for everyone to preface their sentences with the caveat "this is my opinion"...
well really isn't that just stating the obvious ?? it comes down to each individual user what they choose to believe and what they see as fact...
you read enough and come to these conclusions... and in regards to a lot of this security/banning related stuff the only ones who know for sure are the microsoft engineers who designed the systems

This thread might have been pointed a little in my direction seeing as how I love to point out when someone asks a "derr.... stupid" question. My bad.... I'll try to play nice with the newbies from now on.
Riiiiight.
