Hi.only 2 weeks ago i flashed an hitachi 79 no problems.A friend has just brought his round to flash.Drive is detected in jungle flasher and goes into mode b.when i go to play the unlock cd it just freezes the jungle flasher application.ive tried to do this via io port and win api with no success.I'd be grateful for any help please
I use a VIA 6421 and I have to have the driver installed to do Hitachis. In my case, I've found that WinAPI works the best.
I switch back in forth for different scenarios. For instance, when I got to flash a Lite-ON, I remove the viamraid.sys from C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers folder, and reboot, so I don't get a freeze after erase.
But when I flash Hitachis, I put the viamraid.sys file back into the drivers folder and reboot. With the driver installed, I can use WinAPI for flashing Hitachis.
im using a 6421 also.as i said i flashed one 2 weeks ago no problems.tested the drive with an original game to make sure drive isnt faulty.dont know why it wont play the unlock cd.
Hi there.thanks leerage for your help.in the end i just burnt another copy of the unlock cd and voila it worked.strange as the other copy was in A1 condition.well at least i get my £10 now.
Awesome, glad it worked out for you. Another thing to try would to completely disconnect everything and reboot the PC and then try JF again.
After you send mode B, definitely wait the 15-20 seconds for the PC to pick up the 79. I would also check the device manager to see if it has picked up the Hitachi drive.
