I bought a wii premodified with a wiikey in january of this year. The problem i have is i cannot get the wii to take a disc. if the power is on or off, it doesn't seem to matter. the wii takes the disc in and i hear a clicking noise it ejects itself and pulls the disc back in a second time, then ejects the disc completely..
when i insert a disc partially, and remove it the eject drive does not make the clicking noise... and when the drive works, which hasn't been for a couple weeks, the clicking noise is not heard.
it does not matter which way the disc is inserted.. i am leaning towards an issue with the drive eject mechanism?

Try cleaning the lens. Other wise pull and replace the drive or check the insides.
