I just installed my compatible 80GB HDD into my FAT PS2 yesterday. Using the CD Swap Magic, I installed HD Loader and it formatted my HDD. I then went on to install one of my PS2 games into the HDD using HD Loader's install feature. The first game worked, but when installing the 2nd one, it said there is not enough free space. I don't know why because when I formatted the HDD, it said all files would be erased and the HDD was empty anyways.
I tried to run HD Loader again using the same method as the 1st time, but now Swap Magic says, "Not a valid PS2 disc." I also tried running the DVD version but go the same message. Please help, I want to install the MC exploit and hopefully when I do, I won't even have to use Swap Magic anymore. Thanks!
Get WinHIIP and connect the Harddrive to your PC and put the games on it you want, will let you know if theres problems of errors.
FreeMcBoot has a HDL exploit, also has other App that can be installed on your memorycard, like ESR so a Patched DVD game will boot without a Swapmagic.

Thank you imdragon. I installed FreeMcBoot using my USB flash drive. My 4GB didn't work at first, but switched to a 512MB and it worked fine. Can I install a patched DVD game to HDLoader?
Okay, I installed Free McBoot, and it has HD loader built into it. Some of the games I loaded up to it work and some don't. I tried to install some of my original games into the HDD and while Socom2 works, Hot Shots Fore! didn't work. The HD Loader screen looks a little different than I've seen on screen captures. Could it be my version of HD Loader is too old? I don't know why many of my games don't work.
