I would recommend not getting the cheapest possible modded controller (for obvious reasons). Make sure you get a trigger mod, not a button mod (trigger mods consist of a mod button that switches the normal RT between single shot/rapid fire shot... mod button means you use the mod button in replace of RT for rapid fire... which gets extremely painful). I don't have the link handy, but if you look up xboxdango in google you will find a very good rapid fire controller site with a link to their ebay store, they're a bit on the $$$ side but it is worth it (i have brought 3 rapid fire kits from ebay, and these are simply the best). You can also get pre-assembled kits off xboxdango for about $20... only solder 4 wires).
Just did this one for AD member jefe2119. Dual trigger (good for H3), 3 mode rapid fire. Rapid fire can be turned on/off for both triggers either together or separately. Buttons underneath turn on/off rapid fire on the triggers.
I use to sell some sleepers, but found that more people liked having the buttons underneath the controller. The finger is already positioned there and with a simple click they can either turn on/off the rapid fire, or change the rapid fire mode. With the sleeper they had to take their hand off the controller to hit the sync button. That wasn't good for in-game. So I just quit selling the sleepers and stuck with the buttons.
No preference either way with me... it's just what the buyers wanted.
Oh I know... sleepers are a little less work for the modder. I use to keep a couple prebuilt, but they just weren't selling so I quit prebuilding them.
In fact, I do have one sleeper left. And it's installed in a XCM shell. This shell is probably the only XCM product I like. The shell has a smooth, silky, yet slightly rubbery texture. It's hard to describe to those who haven't felt one before. It's excellent for gaming for those who get sweaty palms.

I have a button mod, i have not tried using sleeper models... wouldn't they disconnect your controlled if not changed speed right? Trigger (with mod buttons) would be easier in my opinion, although you have to use a lot of glue on the buttons (mine have fell in 2 times now)
