got broadband the other day so plugged it into my xbox 360 to start online gaming. it said i needed an update from the site so i proceeded, it then tells me it cant download the update and i should check my network settings. I done this and it tells me everything is fine but the update still wont come down... so i cant get onto xbox live

any ideas anybody?

Go on the website, download the update, burn it to a disc, and update your xbox that way. Instructions to do so are on the xbox website.

But make sure to use a third-party burning sofware. Doing it with the software that comes with windows(pressing burn button at the top of explorer) will just make a disc that is only viewable in windows. You have to use a third-party that will finalize the disc.

thanks for the reply but got it sorted. it was a problem with my router, seems you have to allow xbox live and also lower firewall settings
