Pandora Introduction
[for Official firmware/Fully Bricked psps newbies]
for hacking/update/downgrade psp or fix Bricked psp.
you need to get pandora battery and magic stick to downgrade/hack/fix/unbrick psp's Firmware to Custom Firmware[/color].
Pandora battery is a battery soft/hard modded battery to Service Mode used for hack/fix/downgrade psp.
it can be made via soft modding or hard modding.
-hard mod is a way making a permanent Pandora by breaking on of its pin inside (not sure which, see tutorial)
-soft mod is a way making a temporary Pandora that can be reversed back to normal battery by changing its serial code by using a hacked psp with a app vice versa.
magic Stick is a memory stick with the necessary files used for pandora Boot up and Custom Firmware storage/installation.
Note: " Magic Stick" is a nickname for the memory stick with files used with pandora battery, nothing else. if you want to 'convert' it back to normal, simply format it.
3 choices for people with no pandora battery
(of course if you have pandora and a fully-bricked psp, these dont apply)
if you have someone with CFW psp/play games off memory stick, use option 1
1. get a friend/someone with CFW (Custom firmware) psp and make a soft mod pandora for you.
2. buy Pandora battery online (hard modded-permanent Pandora)
-recommend using site DealExtreme(DOT)Com, or use other reliable/legit websites
OR
3. make your normal battery into hard modded Pandora.
i recommend option 1 or 2
Magic Stick
magic Stick can be made with the program Rains MMS Maker (windows app), or you are on Custom firmware, you can use DC8, psp tools 0.8, pandora tool kit, or UltraPandora installer.

pandora bootup sequence:
take out pandora battery and magic stick (take out magic stick is optional)
insert magic stick ( ignore this if already inserted)
While Holding L, insert Pandora Battery
then the menu should show up.
once it does, choose install x.xx M33 (x is a variable) and it will begins the flash/install process.
just make sure your Pandora battery is fully charged and do not shut down while flashing/installing Custom Firmware.
how to reverse soft mod pandora
to reverse pandora back to normal battery, you will need:
a application that can convert and reverse pandora battery like Recovery Flasher Version 1.50, UltraPandora installer, psp Tools 0.8 or others.
then you will need to:
take out pandora battery
plug in AC Adapter
turn on psp
then either insert pandora battery or run the app (whichever comes first)
use functions like "convert to normal" to convert back to normal battery =D
Using Pandora Battery as Regular Battery:
[optional but recommended for single battery owners]
if you ever used a pandora battery, you will notice that the pandora battery will bootup a black screen only if magic stick is not used with it.
to use Pandora Battery boot up as regular battery, you can use Rains MMS Maker or other apps mentioned in Magic Stick section to inject TM (Time Machine) Format IPL to your memory stick.
once injected with TM Format IPL, the pandora battery will bootup like regular battery once psp is turned on.
Note: the psp will automatically turn on if you insert the pandora battery in.
