is there a way to downgrade this so i can do a softmod????
if thats not possible do i have to buy a chip

You'll have to install a chip. There is no way to softmod or downgrade a 4.0 at this point.

is there a chip that i dont have to do any crazy edited by ddp with?
i dont know how to solder edited by ddp(spell check)
when i have my chip how do i play the games? sd card? usb? or do i have to burn them to discs?

what is a good website to buy a chip
what do i need to know about my wii before choosing a chip

If you install a modchip you simply burn the games to DVD-R. There are modchips out on the market that do not require soldering, you can buy a pre soldered modchip to a wii-clip that you simply open up your wii and clip to the chip inside or you can buy the flatmod that connects to a couple of cables inside the wii.

Bear in mind that some modchips dont work on all the chipsets that the wii's have got so its handy to know what chipset is inside your wii before purchasing a chip :)

Also if your in the UK this is a reliable source to buy from, might not be the cheapest place to buy from but guaranteed to get it in the post
