I am using this software to join two movie files. When trying to save the message "no audio decompressor found" is displayed. How can I continue? Tks.

You can also try Avidemux instead, for joining.

Tks for yer speedy replies. Before trying Avidemux how would I know if it's ac3 audio? This was downloaded from the net.

Either drag the file onto MediaInfo to see the codecs used.

Or drag the file onto AviDemux, click 'File > 'Properties'

Oh yes did just that ..it is ac3. Pl excuse my ignorance! I loaded the two video files in Avidemux and am stuck!! What I wish to do is join the files and add a subtitle. Avidemux is entirely new to me.

Use the settings shown here in the image and use the guide in the link - ignore the part about 'Automatic' and 'DVD' - you are using mpeg-4 for the video setting..as shown in the image below.
I assume that your subtitles are set to sync to the joined files.

Edited for clarity.

If you are stuck in the joining phase, first load part1, then click on "File"->"Append" and then open the second part.
