I have fixed lots of boxes of all types but this 1 is doing my head in.
It is a eurovox max v and it will not accept the firmware update.
I have tried factory reset, unplugging power starting download and powering up but nothing works. updater says v2.10 detected but box resets and comes straight back on. It will accept the chanel data from another box but gets stuck on updating code.
Any advice before i tell my friend to bin it

Yep its a Max V, I did 2 others at the same time, It was from 1 of these boxes that i transfered the channel dump from.
The other 2 where in boxes (new) but this 1 was loose, so i think it just stopped working. It takes the channel dump and you can watch normal channels. But it wont accept the firmware and just keeps rolling on the code update.
When you attempt to update the firmware it says 2.10 detected, when you press start it says resetting, the eurovox resets and comes straight back on to the tv channel and the firmware downloader on my laptop freezes.
failing all if you cant flash with updated software,then if you have access to the hidden menu enter the codes manualy(press menu,then yellow button,then enter provider id,and then enter codes,press ok to save and then exit back to tv.strange the loader worked for 2 boxes and not the third,have you tried putting a null modem cable between a working box and the box that wont load and do a software transfer(this copies the software from a working box to a non working box,in much the same way as a loader but no loader is required)if not im sure there is some one here that will know whats going on with your box.good luck.
