snes9x requires twilight hack?

Tried doing a search and couldn't find a result.

I'm considering getting a flatmod chip, and don't want to do a softmod because of lack of full compatibility and that it apparently leaves files behind in the system that cannot be removed. I want to install snes emulator, but didn't know if twilight hack was required for this or if mod chip alone was sufficient

the mod chip can play snes9x off the dvd itself. There are compilation discs which people have made which has 5 emulators all on one dvd like snes9x, genesis and so forth with 2500 rom games attached to it. You can run this disc via mod chip. If you want to play snes9x otherwise you need homebrew and a sd card so you can load your games via that and using apps.
