Would just like to know if is would be safe or advisible to delete all the duplicate files recommended by System Mechanic Pro in power tools from my laptop.

Yes and no, more than one program may use the same file, same with 0 byte file's sort of, this explain's it better than I can: http://ask-leo.com/is_it_safe_to_delete_duplicate_files.html

Simply NO,unless you have a backup image of the drive or you know for sure those files are ssfe to delete however if any windows files get turfed you may not be able to get past the login or you'll get a stack of error messages popping up,don't put any faith in system restore to rescue you it's about as good as a set of gumboots with holes
