Hi everyone,
I recently got hired to a company to legaly rip movies from dvd's and have them for sale on our website. At first it was only a few a week. But we now have dozens and dozens of requestions from manufactures. I have been using dvd2avi and then encoding into WM9. But I need to got a lot of them done fast and at great quality. My question is, what is the best way to rip many dvd's quickly (I'll buy whatever software that I need) and be able edit the avi or wmv. Please help.

Well to Just Rip the DVD"s then SmartRipper or DVD Decryptor are the Best and freeware but you can not set any of these programs up to do Batch Ripping then again you would need many DVD Drives to do Batch Ripping....On My 16X DVD-Rom drive I have gotten the fastest Ripping speeds useing SmartRipper with force ASPI Installed...I have ripped at up to 12X speed but usually with Encrypted DVD"s I get up to about 8X to 9X Ripping speed so in about 10 Minutes I can rip a single DVD to my hard drive..To go to "AVI or WMV" you can use DVD2AVI and the VFAPI Converter and WinDows Media 9 Encoder" or just go directly to AVI with DVD2AVI or Virtual-Dub_Mpeg2 you can even use TMPGEnc to go from DVD to AVI....well good Luck

PS: In Most cases the Free software on the net for doing this Type of stuff is generally better than most pay software.......

Thanks for the reply Minion. I have notice the freeware has been alot bettr then alot of the retail stuff. What also has been on my mind is what program can I use that can bring my avi's and audio together after ripping it before I take into WME9?

So after ripping you have AVI video and an audio file and you want to be able to Join them into the same File??? To do this you can use something like "AVI Mux" which will Mux your Audio into your AVI file...If you can"t find it you can PM me with your e-mail and I can send it to you....Cheers
