Intermittently no audio when streaming to Xbox 360

I have finally connected my XBox 360 to the internal network to stream movies and music to my telly. Thanks to this forum and installation guide i had no problems getting everything connected and working using TVersity. BIG thank you for taking the time to put up a detailed installation document.

The problem i am having is that intermittently when i stram movies or music from my PC to XBOX ther eis no audio. If i leave the XBOX off for a few hours and try again it works fine.
I noticed that when i power up the XBOX and the logo comes on the telly, if there is the audio at that point then all works fine when i stream movies. But if there is no sound when i power on the XBOX then there will be no audio when streaming movies or music.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Doesn't seem to be an issue with tversity to me. I've never had this issue and use it on a daily basis. What type of connection is between the xbox and TV? Are you wired or wireless? If you are wireless, I'd recommend wire as there is a lot of data transmitted between the pc and xbox for streaming.

seeing as how you said sometimes when turning the xbox on it will have no sound that means it has nothing to do with the tversity setup . sounds more like a problem with the 360 or the way it is hooked to the tv /speakers

I agree its something to do with the Xbox 360 as well. I have it on a wired lan and connected to my TV via HDMI. When there is no sound during the boot up logo, all games work fine anything played on the cd/dvd drive works fine.

Its only the streamed stuff that does not have audio.

The only update done on the Xbox was when i connected it to the net and it downloaded the new dashboard and god knows what else.

Its surely not TVersity....

do you have another hdmi input to plug into to test the one currently using. if the problem persists using a diff port then try a diff cable. if you dont have another hdmi on hand then i would try using the HD cables that come with the system and see if you still lose sound.
