I want to upgrade to 4.0 from 3.2 to take advantage of the new features. I use HBC in a rather limited way, mostly just for Waninkoko's DVD Dumper and I want to use the new USB Loader. The DVD dumper requires cIOS249 and the USB Loader requires 36rev10 or something like it. What is the difference with these to? I was planning on installing everything and then using the 4.0 updater. Will this work for me? How do I end up with two different cIOS installed? Thanks.

I have cIOS36_rev9 installed and USB Dumper works fine. So cIOS36_rev10 should work fine as well on DVD Dumper.

I don't have cIOS36_rev10 installed anymore because I was having issues with my games freezing both using WiiGator and USB Loader. So I went back to cIOS36_rev9 untill rev11 comes out.

But I did load USB Dumper 1.2 on my system and it worked fine.

So that might be why I'm having trouble installing 36rev9 & 10. I probably need to remove 249 first...

FYI,

IOS36 rev xx when installed in the Wii becomes IOS249. So don't uninstall it; you may run into problem. If you're having problem with IOS36 rev 10, just install IOS36 rev 9 and rev 10 will be overwritten.

I think cIOS37 and cIOS36 both install under IOS249 slot. So if you installed cIOS37 for the DVD Dumper then you will need to uninstall that to install cIOS36.

Well, in preparation for the update, I've installed ios60 and cIOS36rev9 and now DVD Dumper doesn't work. Neither 1.2 or 1.3 are working. They both hang at the "Initializing Network" part, and go to a code dump. I have to pull the power plug to get it to restart. Any Ideas? Thanks.

Ok, so I got DVD Dumper working, once I started using the WiFi instead of the USB Ethernet adapter. This is strange to me since I've been dumping DVDs with the USB adapter for months with no issue. I guess there's no need to complain though...

cIOS36_rev9 and rev10 have an issue with Wii USB devices working properly (that includes Network Adapter, USB Mics etc. etc.). cIOS36_rev11 is being worked on at this time and should fix this issue.

If you want the USB Ethernet adapter function back for DVD Dumper then install cIOS36_rev8. But doing this will disable the USB Loader since USB Loader needs rev9 or rev10 installed.

If you don't mind going through WiFi then keep rev9 or rev10 installed and wait till rev11 comes out that fixes the Wii USB device issue.
