Cannot change booktype with Imgburn

Hey I need help with Imgburn.
I'm trying to copy an Xbox 360 ISO and can't change the booktype, It just says "Unknown(Failed!)
Reason: Invalid Command Operation Code"
Any help is appreciated.

you shouldnt need to change any settings in imgburn to burn a 360 iso. install img burn chose the dvd file for the game and it will burn. if anything just change write speed to 2.4 or lower

Does the burner support booktyping? May not with the error you are getting. What's the make and model?

I had the same problem and was bugging out when i saw on one tutorial that if you couldnt change the book type you couldnt burn games but i just burnt it anyway without changing book type and it works fine

It's a Samsung SH-S223F.
And I've tried copying like 10 different ways and it copies but then when I put it in the Xbox it says "Open Tray". My Write Speed is right, all settings are right, but I just can't change the booktype and I'm guessing that's why it says "Open Tray".

Have you proved a known working copy works on your XBOX? You may need to do a POT Calibration
EDIT: Also what media type are you using?

Well, I'm in South Africa and we use PAL, When I just modded it I wasn't sure if NTSC games would work so my friend(From USA) lent me one of his games to try it out. The xbox picked up the game but obviously wrong region or watever but it did see the game. Now when I do it myself with my PAL Games, It just doesn't work... And I'm using Verbatim DVD+R DL discs...

how are you copying the games? if you dont have a kreon flashed samsung or are using either the xbox samsung drive, or benq drive then you can only copy them via winxripper method.

ok, well all you need to do is select the .dvd file with imageburn, (you can manually set the layerbreak in the settings if you want, but its not necessary) and select your correct burner, and burn speed, 2.4 or 4x your choice, and burn it. it should work assuming your console is flashed properly.

well we can rule out crappy media as you stated you are using verbs. so i would suggest doing the POT tweak, and if that doesnt work, you can either replace the laser itself, or the entire drive. if you replace the drive itself, then you must reflash the new drive with your current drives FW.

what game are you trying to copy and what version firmware is on your 360.
also are your other games working without giving the error? if they arent working then your drive may be failing

It's Mirrors Edge and it's the First PAL backup I've tried. Firmware = i-Xtreme 1.5. The drive could read the NTSC Discs so it can't be failing...

i have a wishy washy benq drive.it gets open try error a lot but most of the time it will recognize discs on the dashboard fine but then when i go to launch game it will tell me it is dirty or act like it isnt there anymore. and then sometimes it will work 20 times in a row without any issues. so it could be failing. Do you have any games that actually play or not? just showing up on the menu isnt what im asking. can you play any games on this 360 right now?? do you even have any games that are the correct region and play?

well its not a wave 3 games, so thats not the problem, but you should really update to 1.51 or wait until next thursday and update to 1.6, thsi way you can play the newer games coming out. i would try a different burnt game and see if plays it. if it doesnt then go along with my previous post.

this is the only Back up I have I wanted to try one first and then do the rest. My friend does the backing up for me... so I don't have any other backups at the moment... All my originals work perfectly.

how does he back up the games, via kreon flashed samsung drive, or some other method? but if your originals work, then it does sound like your laser is getting weak as it takes more laser strength to read a burnt game opposed to a retail game. so do the above mentioned by me.

As you say that it reads other copies (all be it another region), I doubt a POT tweak will help. Have you ran your copies through ABGX gui? If not, do so, it will tell you if anything is wrong with the ISO

Maxa1577 - just an fyi on booktyping & your drive - from what I found it does not support booktyping - hence the reason for your error.
I'd make sure the firmware is up to date on it using Samsung's live update - link.
May not help but it's usually best to keep the firmware up to date.

I have a Samsung SH-223Q and I can set the Book-Type in ImgBurn. I never do though and it doesn't cause a problem. I think the older firmware required the book-type to be set.

Txs for posting that info leerage - seems my info is incorrect. Videohelp.com does show bitsetting as option with this drive but cdfreaks does.

No problem binkie7. :) Like you mentioned, having the most up-to-date firmware is always smart. But the layer break is definitely required for 360 games. Without that the game won't play. If the .dvd is correct, it will point ImgBurn to the proper iso to be burned at the correct layer break (1913760 for XBOX360).
