Just purchased a modded xbox and it cam with the old dashboard is there any benefit or reason in particular that it is still on the old dashboard??? I really want the new dashboad, but will my mod break if i update????

Wave 3 games are like a virus for the old dashboard. Once you put the game in there, there is no going back.

I'm not for sure. I haven't had to patch any games, I just did the update and was done with it. :) But I guess somebody could try it out if they have the old dashboard. I'd be interested to see the result.

yea i wasnt sure either, my lil brother mistakenly updated my dash a few days after NXE was released when he put his HD on my console, but oh well, it needed updating anyways.

Yeah that is another thing I seen awhile back. Someone put there hard drive on another console with old dashboard and forced the user to update. MS definitely wants people to get NXE and blowing eFuses so people can't downgrade.

yea, it didnt matter to me that it was updated, as i was looking forward to the ripping to the HD feature and i had no way of updating is as i didnt have the internet at home at the time.

True. I found the ripping feature to come in handy. Save the life of the DVD drive. Now I guess we are getting a little off-topic... lol... oh well.
