Wii USB Loader Question

So I got the Wii USB Loader working fine, however when I attach my external hard-drive, I am asked if I want to format a full partition, is this safe? Will I still be able to use it on my PC without the original files affected?

If you want to store both your PC files and Wii games on the drive you will need to make 2 partition on the HDD. One partition for the PC and one for the Wii games.
