Hi all,

Just recently my psp slim has been acting super strange. In every game I play, the psp will start to press random buttons all on its own. This seriously pisses me off cus it normally prompts options that leads to me dying either a horrible death or use a rare item that can only be found twice in the game etc. So yea, anyone else have similar problems? The case is that the psp will act on it's own and start to press random buttons. ANY help will be greatly appreciated.

Put it into change name in the system menu, see what happens if its the direction buttons it should move around, my start button strip failed, this meant I was unable to enter a name as soon as it entered the menu it came out again. All the button parts are either circuit foils or rubber covers, they are reasonable easy to change and cost very little - the hardest thing is to find out which has gone.

i seem to now have more problems. I managed to take out 3 screws, but all the other ones are soo damn tight that I'm starting to get blisters on my hand. I'm using 000 screwdriver, so I know it's the right one.

I think I found the bad buttons. The joystick is 100% one of them. Also, either my triangle button or x button is screwed up, I think it's the triangle button.

The joystick is a simple change - 2 screws (once you can get the case ones out!) the only thing to look out for is on the old joystick there is a piece of clear silicon - DO NOT loose this, they cost 3 times the price of the joystick! - swap it on to the new joystick and put it in place.

X & Y - these are on a circuit film, try cleaning first, if not then you can get a replacement for a few dollars.
