New Play Donkey Kong Jungle Beat NTSC-U update?

I was wondering if this update would be safe for a NTSC-U Wii? It says that the software needs an update before I start playing. I used BrickBlocker but after I push start, it goes to a black screen and stays that way. I wanted to know if this update was just a game update or a firmware update. Currently my setup is:

Wiikey 1.9s (US)
Wii Firmware 3.2U

Please let me know if it would be safe to update for New Play Donkey Kong Jungle Beat or how I can fix the black screen once I BrickBlocked the game. I do not want to update the firmware because it might affect my other backups. Thanks.

Try booting it with Gecko OS

Thanks for the reply. I do not have the Gecko OS. I only have wiikey on it and the firmware I had stated. Is there a way to make this work without the Gecko OS?

You will need to launch it via Homebrew Channel or use WAD Manager to install a Gecko OS channel.

Do some research on this stuff if you want to know how to do it.

What app in the homebrew channel lets you load the disk directly?
