He guys been reading the ultimate sticky but haven't seen anything that covers this. I recently purchased a referb 360 from gamestop. (bad idea I know). However I open it an it has a benq 6038 in it however. After many times of trying to flash it. I decided to open the drive and see what the problem is. After looking at the drives board. I noticed it has the same board as the Lite on drives. So I am at a delima is it liteon guts in a benq casing or what?

As well steps I have taking already.
Mainly I did the dBen tool. When it says turn off the drive and turn it back on. it flashes between D1 and 51 then goes strait to 52. Dunno if that helps or not.
Next I decided ok some things not right. So I hooked it up to the comp an ran jungleflasher. It reads as the PDL DG-16D2S this makes me think even further that it is a liteon.

So the question is. DO I use liteon fw to flash or benq lol

If it reads as DG-16D2S. it must be a lite-on. Thats weird tho. if you get it to read in jungleflasher it will autoload the correct firmware.

ok thanks its what I thought. So should I just put both Benq and Liteone cfw into a folder like normal?

sounds like someone replaced the board before selling to gamestop. i wonder if it was already flashed with hacked firmware?

If they were messing with the boards, I'd bet it was already flashed with cfw. I know I wouldn't take my xbox apart, take the drive apart, switch boards, and not flash it. Lol.

yea anytime i get a new system or someone buys a used one and wants me to flash the first thing i do is try it first to see if is already flashed. esp if i can tell it has been opened before.

Dunno just know I was able to finally flash the thing. I checked before messing with it and it had no cfw on it. Other then that I am thinking yeah somebody prolly changed it out and put the wrong casing back on it.
