I've tried to rip 'The Blair Witch Project' and 'The War of The Worlds' - both are in 4:3 format. I simply cannot get the audio in sychronisation with the video!

Yet, when I did 'Fatal Attraction' (16:7 format), this was fine...the only thing I can think is the formats.

I read through /both/ tutorials on the site on how to rip 16:7 and 4:3 formats; both appear to be the same....correct?

Another slight problem with the 4:3 DVDs is, my end movies always seem oversized at the end....when I enter 700mb in DVTool, I kinda expected to get about 700mb in the end movie, not 800mb...!

Basmic, first, 800mb will fit onto a 700mb/80min cd-r when you burn the image.

Next, what format are you trying to get in the end? Divx? SVCD? what software are you using to convert? there are settings in some software that correct audio synch problems.. I can suggest that you use DVD2SVCD. A guide on how to use the software can be found here: http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/archive/dvd2svcd_guide.cfm and here: http://www.doom9.org.

hope you find your answer!

Oh yeah, almost forgot.. you can setup TMPGenc to use an external tool for audio.. toolame is the best mp2 audio encoder available, and its free.. it usually fixes synch problems that can happen when trying to use TMPGenc's internal audio conversion.

Also, if the movie source is 29.97 fps NTSC, then you may need to use inverse telecine filter when ripping.

Good luck!
