I have a ntsc-jap wii, and it came with four games that were copies. I started making my own copies, with imgburn, Verbatim-r. Most of the games were working fine, then I ran into a problem with one game, it started running an update or something. I think it might of Semi-Bricked my wii, because now only the four burnt games and a couple of the burnt games I made still work. Since my wii is jap, I can't read the error message. The only word in English is "OFF" and there are no numbers.

I tried jap-v288-repad, but it comes up with the same "Off" message. I am not sure what mod chip is in my wii.

Can anyone please give me any advise?

Thx

Well if it was bricked you wouldn't be able to play any games. When does this error come up? What discs are you using?

the error comes up as soon as the game is put in, so if i'm at the wii menu and I insert the game, the message pops up and I have to hold down the power button to reset and eject the game. The wierd thing is these games were working fine for a few days and when I tired to test out a new game I copied, my wii started running an update (from what it looked like). since then most of the games I copied aren't working anymore.

what do you think it might be?

Thx

You should only be playing games that your wii's region is from. If you didn't and did an update, that would have caused this. Do you use brick blocker? Can you get a screen shot?

I don't know what brickblocker is (sorry i'm a newbie). when the error pops up the whole screen goes black and in white writing their our a bunch of japanese symbols (that I can't read) the only english work "off" is in the middle of the message...

what should I do?

say anything about opera? Screen shot would help. You probably bricked it with the update. You never update the will from another game region. brick blocker blocks updates.

so you dont know if its soft mod or hard mod?

Try this.....
Go into the wii channel menu (main menu screeen)
See if you have something that says homebrew.
See if you have any other channel that says backup launcher or back up loader.
What firmware are you on? Wii settings upper right hand corner.

Im new, so bear with me!

All of the writing is in Japanese, so its hard to know whats what. I do know that i cant get in to my settings. There is one cube on the home screen that is Wii Connect24, and the other one has what look like blue suitcases. When I click on either one I get a message stating "you tried to contect to jp/jp/jpn/internet/internet_index.html... contection failed" ( I'm not hooked up to internet).

I what do you think?

FYI, you need a special screw driver to open the wii not just a regular philips or flat screw driver. You need cross and trigram.
