Hi
I'm new to xbox360 and playing backups. I read a fair bit on the forums since I know people don't like to spoon feed everything, but there are some questions I can not find answer to.
So in order to play a back up game off downloaded from the internet I need:
1. Flash my xbox360 and install ixtreme, the xbox360 drives come with different brands? so I need to check which one I have. The process of flashing will also void warranty?
2. Check if the game is patched and if not, if not I have to patch it myself.
3. Burn with a DL dvd burner and DL DVD+R verbatim disk.
Did I miss anything? Is there a way to tell which drive the xbox360 has before purchasing it? Is it true that I need a PC in order to flash xbox360?
Also, I know that xbox360 come in different packages, and the big difference among them is the hard drive size. Can I flash my xbox360 with the arcade package that only comes with 256 MB? Or do I need the 20G+ versions to work?
1. No, you don't flash your Xbox 360, you flash your Xbox 360s drive with an alternative firmware called iXtreme 1.51 (I would wait another week and take the newer then released iXtreme 1.6). Therefor the harddrive or memorycard or whatnot has got nothing to do with flashing.
You have to totally dismantle your Xbox 360 to get the drive, so yes, that does void warranty.
2. You need to check if the game is stealth or not, if not you can make it stealth with agbx.
3. Yes, true. You don't need Verbatim DVD+R DL, they can be another brand, but Verbatim media has prooved to be the most reliable.
Of course you need a PC to flash the Xbox 360's drive. There are also ways to do it with a laptop, but the needed PCMCIA card is hard to find.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
