Soon after it came out, I got USB loader 1.1 (actually using the 1.1S modified version so kids don't delete games). Working fine with all the games I've tried, and use the windows loader to load ISOs to my 30GB external laptop drive. All is working fine, so I was wondering if there is any advantage to upgrading to USB loader 1.5. Is there anything different other than being able to load pictures of the games? Thanks in advance.

I would jump to 1.5 since is easy to do and all you have to do is replace a file so why not

Changelog: from 1.1 to 1.4
- Region free improved.
- Fixed bug that caused corruption when deleting games.
- Fixed bug in showing the space used / free.
- Fixed bug when displaying the size of a game.

Changelog: from 1.4 to 1.5
- Fixed bug when installing games on partitions larger than 512GB.

- Fixed bug when mounting the devices.

- Fixed bug which prevented loading Excite Truck (the game can not be loaded from SD because the game needs to access the music).

- Improved speed of installation.

- Update partitions / channels / VC is not ignored in future installations (in previous versions were copied but the partitions are removed from the partition table and therefore no longer exist).

- Arrangements and various optimizations.

If you look at the official releases of the USB loader, there isn't that much of a difference between 1.1 and 1.5. Version 1.5 allows either USB or SD card to be used, added DVD cover, and fixed bugs (most importantly, the "corrupt games when a game is deleted" bug). If 1.1 is working for you, I'd say stick with it. The 3rd party USB loaders these days have lots of eye candy features: cover flow, animation, themes. They also added some "neat" features like kid-safe with password, force region so you can play cross-region games, ocarina cheat, ability to configure, etc... You'll just have to check it out to see if it's worth it. Maybe your kids will like a Mario or Disney theme, or even a custom theme with their pictures in it.

As wiininja said it just added few icing on the cake for you to go to USB loader1.5 you also need to update the cios to rev10 to maximixed the features. Few games causes problem in rev10, like animal crossing freeze the image but not the Wii. REv9 does work in 1.5 but you will not be able to used the game image browser.

Anyone else try out GUI-FX_1.0-RC7.

Allot of improvements from the first release. Also has 3D mode game covers.

You can take a look HERE.

I hope your being sarcastic.

Of course it is as easy as using USB Loader. Just add it to your apps folder for Homebrew Channel.

Use a USB Loader forwarder if you want it to launch from Wii menu.
