how in the world do i get m dvdrw drive to read a wii game?

I read the guide and its saying i need a lg drive. I got a really good sony dl drive. I put it in my drive and it just spins :(

You can't. 4 models of LG and some other selected models and NO Sony drives. There a whole thread on it in this forum that say which ones work.

Even the LG drives that are REQUIRED need rawdump or friidump to read the disc.

Windows will NOT be able to recognize a Wii game.

I just read my car manual and it says to only put unleaded gasoline in my gas tank. I have poured a large jug of milk in my car and it won't start :(

You aren't making a lick of sense. You said that you can't get your PC drive to read a disc right? What does that have to do with playing a backup? You play the backup in your wii not your PC.

Help me, help you! LOL

you can get the correct drive to read the disks in your pc rather easily from ebay

Use this guide HERE to make a backup game.

Keep in mind you already have the cIOS installed so all you need to do is follow the DVD Dumper section of the guide.

all im saying to the ppl who arent understanding me hehe. Is my drive wont read a wii game. So im amad i gotta go out and buy a new dvdrw drive. Or do I ?

did you even read the post above? If you are simply trying to play backups there is no need to buy a drive. Just use the dvd dumper if you have homebrew installed.

seriously buddy you need to get your requests straight. What the hell are you trying to do here?

1. Read a factory stamped (store bought) wii game in your PC?

2. Read and dump a factory stamped wii game in your PC?

3. Create a backup of a factory disc somehow?

4. Read a burned backup wii game in your PC?

5. Read a play a burned backup wii game in your wii?

Which is it slick?

im sorry i really dont see the difficulty in this? But thanks for the patience. What i want to do :

really what i wanna do is just make a back up of a wii game with out buying a new drive. Being able to play it thru the wii gator back up loader channel or the home brew channel. Im new to this wii modding so please forgive me if stuff dont make seance.

Just wanna make back up sand play them with out buying a lg drive. I got a sony.

Wow, I don't see what's so hard about this?!! If you want to back up the game on your computer, then YES, you NEED AN LG DRIVE!! You can back it up using your Wii though too... thus no need for an LG drive! Read the guides... the info is there!

well I hope you can get dvd dumper figured out, but if not, and you have to get the lg drive, it might help to look at it this way...the game you're backing up is 20-60 bucks the drive is about 40-50...you'll save that money within the first few games you backup. Sorry I don't have a better solution, but I think between the advice and the guides people have posted all options have been covered.
