Hi, I'm having a problem with the movies I've downloaded. I am able to create iso images with DVD flick and burn to DVD-R discs with Imageburn. I can play the files with GOM or any of the other players I have. The problem is I can't get any movies to play directly from the svideo output on my video card. I just get a blank in the players window on the TV even though the vid is playing on my monitor. Thanks for any help. I hate to waste disks for something I'm only going to watch once.I'm not having any problem playing anything streaming and all the other sample mpg/avi clips etc play fine. Thanks for any help

I assume you can see your desktop on the tv so what you need to do esecially if using Nvidia graphics is go into the Nvidia system configuration software and set it up to use the external screen only as sole display

Hi thanks for the help. Yes my graphics card uses an Nvidia chip set. Your are 100% correct. If I totally disable the PC display movies will play on the tv. Is their any way around this?

This is based on the particular Nvidia Chipset the thing of it is if your watching content on a larger screen why would you need your smaller screen. If you use clone desktop mode the video typically plays only on the master screen which would be your pc monitor. Depending on what chipset you may be able to see it on both you may not.

Sorry it took so long to reply. The reason it would be better if I had both displays is that my tv isn't hi def. So it's much easier for me to navigate and use the monitor to load and play the movies. Then watch on the tv via the s vid out into the tv. I find it odd that all the other vid clips and streaming content works fine with both displays mode. It's just downloaded movies that won't play. Is their any vid card that can get around this? thanks

Thanks elliott I really appreciate the help. I can live with the single output to the tv if I have to. It's much better than burning everything to dvd just to watch it. I thought their might be something embedded in the movies that prevented them being displayed on a tv screen. At least I know this isn't a common problem. Thanks
