can any help me with this problem i have.
i have been trying to download the map pack for cod waw.
i was getting this error saying that it was not available in my area.
my xbox is regestered to ireland and i live in portugal.
i got my brother in ireland to log in on xbox.com and buy the map pack from there.
i thought it had worked because it said "congratulations you have successfully purchased the game add on"
and it started to download on my xbox in portugal.
it got to 99% and then the message cant download mappack.
so i tried to redownload it went straight to 98%-99% and the message "the download can not be completed please try again later any points you have used for this transaction have already been
deducted from your ballance and will not be deducted again.status code:80070017.
i have tried about ten times with no success.
i formated my hard drive no success.
i ereased the cache and rights in the system folder no success.
i changed the local to portugal on my xbox and changed my gamer tag over to another hotmail add with the address in portugal.
all not working with the same message .
i called xbox support and they said that they know about the problem and they will work out how to fix it.

they dont have a dam qlue what to do, its been a known issue since the release of the pack and they still havnt fixed it yet.
i think im going to ask for my points to be refunded and ill wait for the 2Žnd map pack to come out.

has anyone else had this problem if so did you work out how to get it to download?
any info would be greatfully received

I have the exact same problem and have tried the same fixes - still not working.

Has anyone else had luck with this yet?

i have worked it out.
the issue is to do with german censorship laws.
as you would imagine the whole nazi zombie thing is a bit on the delecate side with the german goverment as a result it is toatly banned in germany.
so if you live in a different country than the one you have regestered your xbox in.xboxlive consider you as german and dont let you download the map pack (but the f**king c*nts let you pay for it!!!!)
this is not a rant i have confirmed this with the xboxlive customer support line.
so i opened a new hotmail address and set the address to portugal (where i am living at the moment my original gamer tag was regestered to ireland ) and created a new gamer tag. make sure you set the address to the country you are in as you cant change it later. your gamer tag will be locked to the first country associated with your email address.
put some m$ points on this new gamer tag and redownload the addon.yopu can then use the map pack on your original gamer tag aswell as long as it is downloaded on the same console.
and i got a full refund to my original gamer tag for the first 8007017 error download which was pritty cool, just call the xboxlive support line and give out like f*ck they know what they are doing is wrong so you wont have a problem getting a refund.
they admited to me that they have known that this would happen before the map pack even came out.
so just sound angry enough and you will get the 800 m$ points back.

Thanks. What a pain in the butt.

Your post said you lived in Portugal but registered in Ireland - so, how did Germany affect you? Or were you living in germany?

Here's the weird thing: I am living in Germany but my Live i.d. is registered to the U.S. (I am in the US Army stationed here).

Based on that, I still dont know how I can fix the problem but I will call them to get my points back.

Any other ideas for me?
