Hey, I am planning on buying a used PSP Slim off of craigslist with the intention of putting CFW on it and playing backup games. What information should I get from the seller to make sure it is one of the moddable versions?
Also, how well does the PSP run backed up games? Do they run at full speed? Are there any frame rate issues? Do recently released games work?

Thanks

most important question: what is the original firmware, out of the box. must be 3.95 or lower out of the box to have custom firmware. if it's 4.01 or higher, ditch it.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

If the firmware has been updated, how can one know which firmware was originally installed?

Ask the seller a question, if its more than 12 months old it should be fine, less and you are in the unknows area!

Thanks for the reply. I found out that this is a slim from the Daxter bundle with the TA-85v2 mobo. By looking at a chart on this site, I see that it is hackable, but cannot create pandora. How are you supposed to put CFW on it without a Pandora battey?

You buy a Pandora battery, it costs only a few dollars - or you hard mod the one you have (not without its dangers!)
