i'm buying a newer psp for a deal i can't pass up, but i'd really like to mod it and i know the newer ones right now can't be modded. I'm just wondering if anyone thinks that will change or what. It is a dumb question but i'd just like to know because if someone is going to know or have an idea about it these forums are a good place.

Oi....if your buying a 3000 system, then your out of luck friend. Atm it is unmoddable, unhackable, unlovable.....worthless.
Not a dumb question tho, allso its always a matter of WHEN it will be hacked not IF. The thing you have to ask yourself is how long are you willing to be stuck with a unhackable system? If they crack it next week your set, but if it takes them a few months, then thats time youll probably be sitting in your wherever wondering why the F$%# you bought the thing

ya that was my thinking. I'm happy with my DS for what it can do. But the PSP has better games i'd say and the movies look better so i'm going to take the chance. Thanks.

Well its already partially hacked but only homebrew works so if you want ISO/CSO you are out of luck. THIS is the program if your interested.

i dont mind DS but the PSP is infinitely better, it just feels so limited without the ability for ISO's....especially if you've already tasted such power
but like i said, its only a matter of time if you already have the 3000
just be patient i guess

ya i dunno about that ... unless by 'a mater of time' you mean a very long long time or perhaps never.

i've kept an eye on that dark alex tech docs forum... off and on for months now ... and they don't seem anywhere close to cracking the 3000 series. they can't get the pre-IPL code and there doesn't seem like any way they can get it...

Well the main reasoning behind not adding the ISO/CSO support was to slow piracy but it is likely that it will come in the form of a game loader application.

Dark Alex gave up on the 3000 and went to work on he next PSP release as well as some PS3 stuff
But i keep hearing about this Blue Light Battery thing that puts a 3000 in service mode so you can hack it, and also a bunch of guys keep saying thier really close to cracking it on thier own.
Thats why i say its could be just a matter of time.
And im all for slowing piracy so that the PSP itself can keep evolving (i try to by at least 4 major titles a year) But i still wanna be able to play what ISO's i already have....i got some good ones ^_^

It's only a matter of time until its hacked...We already have homebrew on the psp with the HEM 5.03 since the .tiff exploit is working on ofw 5.03, and soon enough should be hacked...patience is the key.
