So I've tried installing HBC using this hack.
But it isn't working. I'm on wiikey 1.9s with V.4 and No HBC.
I don't really want to downgrade at the moment and do too much messing around with my firmware, but thought i'd try and get HBC as it loaded rather straight forward just using sd card.
Does anyone know if Bannerbomb does in deed load the HBC without having to downgrade.
And if not... Will there be a way in the short future.
Also any news on wad manager being able to run on V4.

Well WAD Manager 1.4 has been working on 4.0 and yes the hack works on a 4.0 virgin wii as long as your serial isn't LU64**

I can't get this bomb banner thing to install HBC. Every time I run through the install bits, it just reboots at the end and then no HBC channel appears

I had similar problems until I reformatted my SD card, then it all installed fine.
I've got HBC installed now and I can do most things, but I cannot find a way to downgrade my system from 4.0 to 3.x, everytime I try to install a wad with Wad Manager 1.4 I get 'Installing Ticket... ERROR! (ret = -2011)'

I agree with gameover9.
There is really no reason to downgrade.
@witchy2k1
If you had a virgin 4.0 system then installing the HBC is not your last step. Go HERE and follow this guide (since you already have the HBC installed you can skip that part of the guide). Make sure your system serial does not start with LU64 or LU65. If it does then do not follow that guide. You will need to wait till a hack becomes available.

I just want to get HBC for future use. I don't want to downgrade, or install any other ios's at mo.
I've tried to use Bombbanner but it just keeps showing the error wrong ticket message when I try to install HBC.dol

Did you do as witchy2k1 said and format the SD Card and try again?

Ouh... No sorry missed that message.
Is it supposed to be FAT32? Mines FAT12 I think.
I'll do it now and get back to you.
Thanks

Nope.... Still no HBC channel in window...
This time on FAT32 it seemed to load and do something other than give an error. but then rebooted and nothing changed on screen.

Are you positive you got the homebrew channel installer named boot.dol at the root of the SD card?
Try formating the SD Card again.
Then download this file HERE and transfer the files inside the SD Card folder to the SD Card. Then try the exploit again.

I'm starting to think only people who have soft modded there wii all ready can get this to work.

Right I've tried everything but this.... can someone shed some light.
Can I install LOADmii using bannerbomb, and then if that works use loadmii to try and install HBC boot.dol?

I don't know why you don't follow the guide HERE.
This doesn't downgrade the Wii System firmware itself. It just downgrades the IOS35 (homebrew blocked version) and lets you install a custom version of it to keep homebrew (cIOS/WAD Instillation) alive on your system.

Hi,
just wanted to ask a few questions before i try it on my WII
I am thinking of using bootmii with bannerbomb
1. When i will get the three options ...
" Install BootMii as Boot2
Install BootMii as IOS
Prepare a SD card "
1.What should i choose ?
2. After installing the above do i need to install a 0.3 GAMMA or USB Loader etc to run my backup's..??
i intend to do the following things...
1. Run my backups via discs and a SD card (optional)
2. Make a NAND backup for safety.
please inform me and guide me..
i have done XBOX 360 flashing as well as PSP flashing
but i am new to WII..
your help will be helpful
thanks and sorry for my stupid question
my version is 3.1u
help me

My suggestion would be to update to 4.0 before doing anything, then follow method 2 in the guide larry gave.

Worked like a charm on a virgin wii for me last night. I think where people get confused is that they are changing the IOS in the WAD manager which would result in error.
