Hello. I bought a used ps2 slim a couple of days ago, and i found out that the laser was bad and it couldnt play any games. So i bought a new laser and installed it. The problem now is that it makes this loud clicking noise when the ps2 tries to read a disc. The disc does not spin either. I have looked for possible problems. Btw, it did read a couple of times before it spazzed out on me. It does that when the laser moves from the top, rest position to, down to read the disc, it stays at the bottom and spazzes out.

Is the laser brand new, did you remove the safety antistatic solder from the solder point?
