I have two problems, and two computers running vista. I want to dual boot them both. One is a desktop, the other a laptop. The desktop has been partitioned into to drives, but Ubuntu keeps saying

Buffer I/O request error on device sr0, logical block XXXXXX

The laptop wont let me shrink the volume of my C: drive using the vista disk manager. I have a little over 30GB free but the volume shrinker will only allow me to shrink 692MB

Google is usually a good place to look first.

http://www.google.com/search?q=Buffer+I%...rror+sr0+ubuntu

First two results look relevant.
