why wont my psp connect to the internet rather than just telling me that a connection error has occured, the key information exchange timed out.

That is usually that the key is incorrect.

The key is case sensative, you need it to be exactly the same - I tried for an hour till I realised the first letter was a capital.

If the key is correct - what encryption type are you using on the router (will say when the PSP sees the signal)

i am using a mac, and a wpa key, is there any way of finding out what it is? i only found out what i think it is because my brother told me but he doesent remember it well, so it would be handy to know how to find it.

You can if you know the routers password - use google to find out the address to type in on your explorer program, then you can go in and change the password (most are not visible ********).

However you can usually reset the router (button on rear of router) but then you will have to re set all computers that use the system.
