Hi, I'm trying to get skype to work on my modded PSP slim but I can't seem to get it to work properly in regards to the mic. I have an earphone with a mic built in but the mic does not work. Is the audio connection on the PSP only for sound output? Do I have to buy a separate device for a mic and do I connect this to the usb connection? Please advise. Thx.

Terribly sorry, I had forgotten the rest of your post. The PSP headphone jack is both input and output. You don't need to plug into the USB port. It is possible it may be that your PSP is also modded.

You need a headset that has the connection that looks like the one in the picture.

You also need:
WiFi connection
Skype account (create on your PC first then log in via the PSP)

If you have a gocam you can use the mic on this - then just use any set of normal headphones.

This worked for me - the go cam wasn't much more than a proper sony headset, PLUS I get a camera for the psp.

Thanks everyone for the quick reply. I went ahead bought me the "Skype Kit for PSP2000" which is the stereo headphone + playback remote control+ Mic for Skype. I tried calling from my psp but all I get is the following error. " An error occurred in playing the voicemail". What could be causing this issue and how do I fix it? And when I exit out of skype it shutdown my psp. fyi. I have a PSP 2000 with modded firmware of 5.00 M33-3. Thanks in advance to anyone who maybe able to help.
