Xbox with Error E79.

Hi, a mate has given me his broken xbox to try and fix for him. It has error code E79 with secondary error code 1033.

I have searched around afterdawn and a few hours of google and I know possible causes are,

Bad hard drive (mine doesnt have one plugged in)
Bad system update (I have tried to reset)


1033 indicates is CPU, GPU or PSU, I know the PSU is fine as it works on my other xbox, do you thing the xclamp trick might help?

I think the best thing to do at this point is to overheat the xbox 360 by opening it up and unplugging the fans, when you get 2 red lights turn the xbox 360 off by disconnecting the power lead then turn it back on, if it starts working then the x-clamp could fix the problem....
