I recently soft modded my PS2 with Free McBoot 1.7, and previously I had 1.5 and all my .elfs stopped working. Does anyone know what could have caused this? I'm hesitant to do anything else with my installation until I know it will be stable.
Also, how exactly do I replace files in a copy of one of my burned ps2 games. I copied the files directly off my GTA San Andreas game, so if I wanted to just make a straight copy (not what I'm trying to do, just using an example) would I just use Nero to make an image out of the files I copied, then burn the image using cdgenPS2?
And if I wanted to replace files to make the ISO smaller, and/or put in some mods, how exactly would I do that? All the video and audio seems to be in PSS or PAK files. I know I have to replace stuff I don't need with dummy files, but I have no idea how to make one of these dummy files, or if there's different types of dummy files to replace video, audio, etc.
And can the font in the game be replaced too?
Lastly, how do I set up my PS2 so it can automatically read my PS1/PS2 backups? I know I can get Cogswap, but that only works for PS2 and still requires swapping, and I still have to swap to play PS1 backups.
Ran into another problem. No matter what I do, I can't get SNES Station to save. I tested it with a SMW hack, and saved at the switch palace, then I exited out of the game and shut the power off when I was back at the SNES Station menu. I turned it back on and went back to the game and the save wasn't there.
I also tried to save SRAM data, and tried to save state as well, and it froze whenever I tried to do either=/
