Fat PS2 Laser Slipping On Screw/Worm Drive

Hi Guys
My Fat PS2's problem is that the laser assembley attached to the rails is slipping on the screw/worm drive of the PS2, basically every time my PS2 goes to read a disk the screw drive moves, but goes so fast that the laser is slipping out of the screw drives teeth. Any help would be super grateful and you would be awesome!

Did you check the white laser gear and clean it.
Make sure its seated correctly on the rail.

You will have to undo the sled rail screws to get at the laser, in order to see under the "white laser gear"
