Alrighty, I know that iXtreme 1.6 allows you to swap over to 0800 firmware to rip games, and I also know it will not accept modified .ISO Example, removing the 3rd WAVE partition and replacing it with a modded 2nd WAVE partition. But besides the game ripping and the stealth booting... Is there really any added XBL security added in this update? I am running iXtreme 1.51 and by looking at the details of 1.6 I see no reason to update.
I made this to see how many of you are updating to 1.6, and if there are really any advantages besides the 0800 game ripping.
Same as above for me, only my second ever flash, was expecting problems with having to do a half open tray to get from 1.51 - 1.6 but with jungleflasher 1.6 is took all of 5-10 minutes to open up run the program n put it back together :), What is the harm in being on the latest version if you can.
I've been flashing since the Xtreme Firmwares, so whenever a new firmware comes out I upgrade usually immediately! I mean for others that don't flash their systems, that can be hard, and a pain when you have to pay someone more money to update it.
But I think that 1.6 would have some added security, besides the 0800 Mode, and the modified .ISO. It's running on my system right now, and haven't had any troubles with it!
Unfortunately for me, I just had mine updated to 1.5.1 a couple weeks ago, and I'm pretty sure the guy who does mine will charge me $20 to update it again... :(

If you were able to comprehend what CFW's are and were able to find this website, and coherently able to form that question, you probably can mod it your self.
There's tons of tutorials, but basically the hardest thing I personally found with doing it is just getting the hang of opening the 360.
Once you have all the proper parts and can get the 360 open it only takes 10-15 minutes to do.
Jungleflasher makes the whole process pretty simple too. That would be my recommendation, you'll save money and gain a better understanding of it all.
Ya with JungleFlasher the process to mod a 360 drive is really easy. Before you would need to be in DOS to flash it, but they had nifty programs like iPrep for that as well.
